Head of Business Development

The Head of Business Development - C5 Guernsey is a key position in the Company driving new business sales using a consultative sales approach to understanding clients and to position C5’s products and services throughout the Channel Islands.  Primarily, the role will be approaching potential new customers, however, there will be some account management of existing customers where you will strive to maintain and deepen relationships. In addition, the role requires management of the Guernsey sales team and working with key vendors and suppliers to fully exploit our opportunities and bottom-line margin.

The role requires an ability to develop an understanding of the technologies, products and services we provide as well as an understanding of our clients’ businesses. 
 
Managing and working collaboratively to develop strong long-term trusting customer relationships with new and existing clients, the postholder will develop existing and new business relationships, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. The role involves liaising across all functional internal teams to improve the customer experience and managing the team and hitting both personal and group sales targets. 

Key Responsibilities

· Build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients and other organisations.
· Meet group sales targets and specific performance metrics, aligned with business strategies.
· Identify and develop new solutions to meet market demands or gaps.
· Responsible for multiple client accounts, and sales teams, able to multi-task and delegate as required.
· Communicate with clients at a senior level to resolve issues and inquiries.
· Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
· Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits.
· Identify and approach potential clients.
· Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors.
· Ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
· Generate innovative ideas to support customers and boost brand awareness.
· Ensure brand consistency.
· Use client feedback to improve customer experience.
· Contribute to meetings within the Sales Team, ensuring communication to the team.
· Collaborate with the Sales Team to identify and grow opportunities within the territory.
· Report on sales results on a regular basis (forecasting and tracking) and suggest improvements.
· Prepare reports on account status as required.
· Stay up-to-date with product launches and provide support to clients and the Sales Team.
· Be able to demonstrate growth in own professional knowledge and skills.
· There is a requirement to undertake ad-hoc duties and projects as required.   

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

EXPERIENCE

. Experienced in developing and executing sales strategies both direct and with partners.
. Experience of working strategically with Microsoft particularly around go-to-market strategies is desirable.
. Proven experience in sales management and sales positions.
. Proven track record in sales and meeting targets.
. In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events.
. Ability to prepare budgets and reports.
. Familiarity with sales performance metrics.
. Experience working with boards, and influencing strategy.
. Experience in all aspects of driving new business sales, from marketing, lead generation, conversion, social media marketing and KPI’s.
. Previous experience in a technology-focused environment. 

EDUCATION

. 
Educated to degree level or equivalent in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or a relevant field is preferred, but not essential.
. A management qualification would be advantageous.
