Agilisys is working with the States of Guernsey through the SMART Guernsey Partnership to modernise the States’ IT estate, transform public services and make a real difference to islanders. You’ll be part of a client-facing team that are passionate about supply chain management, technology and delivering the best value to our customers by ensuring their money is spent effectively and efficiently. As our IT Procurement Category Manager, you work with key stakeholders to manage their technology expenditure, as well as helping our customers achieve social value and support the local economy. This role sits within our Partnership with the States of Guernsey and we are keen to recruit someone based in Guernsey. However, we would be happy to hear from anyone currently based in the UK as the role could also be performed as a work from home position. Once out of lockdown, you would be required to travel to Guernsey and this journey will require air travel.
You need to be able to multi-task and work across systems. The role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as negotiation will form a part of your job.
You will have an understanding of public sector procurement, well-developed category knowledge, a commercial approach, sound negotiation/persuasion skills and a ‘one team’ approach.
To be successful, you must be able to independently plan, organise, prioritise, and manage tasks to deliver outcomes, work effectively under pressure, and meet tight timelines. In addition to these broad skills, the experience of the following will empower you to swiftly make an impact.
You will be a starter-finisher, with the intelligence and motivation to solve a problem and the ability to operate effectively across multiple teams to deliver results.
Ideally, you should hold or be studying for a CIPS qualification.
