PwC have teamed up with the States of Guernsey's Victor Lane and developed weekly coding sessions. Using their Hive Academy materials, they hope to help deliver the coding aspects of the Guernsey curriculum. The sessions are broken up for both Primary and Secondary students:
Hive Tech Academy (Secondary School Sessions)
These sessions will run from 12:00pm - 13:00pm.
These weekly coding sessions for KS3 / KS4 students will teach the fundamental components of Python programming and are set up in the following schedule:
- Session 1: Print
- Session 2: Variables
- Session 3: Datatypes
- Session 4: Bring it all together
- Session 5: Inbuilt Functions e.g input
- Session 6: Bring it all together (competition)
Student resources include a student pack and link to a fully interactive notebook. All students need is their school's Google account to log on and access to Google Colab.
Ensure that students microphones and cameras are turned off when they join the session. To make the session easier to follow, advise students to utilise two devices if possible: One to join the video call on (phone), and one to work on (a laptop/computer).
