The Resolution IT annual school competition returns, and it’s bigger and better than last year.

In 2022, Resolution IT hosted its first design challenge open to Guernsey school children in years 3-6, asking students to design a gadget. The competition was a huge success, with 300 brilliant entries to choose from.

After the success of last year’s competition, the company has decided to make it an annual feat, this time open to schools throughout the Channel Islands; Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Herm and Sark.

The theme this year is to design a robot that falls into one of three categories; Health & Well-being, Community and Environment. Students are encouraged to think outside the box and be as imaginative as possible.

The competition is hosted in partnership with Digital Greenhouse Guernsey and there are some brilliant prizes for the winners and runners up. Guernsey-based marketing agency, Clicksmith, are the headline sponsor, offering two Xbox Series S consoles for the overall winners in the Bailiwick of Guernsey and Jersey.

A selection of brilliant runner up prizes are up for grabs thanks to competition sponsors; PlainSail, who have donated an Amazon Fire Pro Kids Tablet, Blue Islands, who have donated 2 return flights, Aztech Soccer, Aladdin’s Cave, and Oaty & Joey’s.

Resolution IT will also donate £500 to the schools with the highest percentage of competition entries.

Resolution IT’s competition hosts, Tove Barnes, Brand & Marketing Manager, and Joe Wilkinson, Head of Customer Success, said:

“Following the success of last year’s competition, and with the launch of our new Jersey office, we’re delighted to be hosting the Design a Robot competition across both islands this year. This project is such a great way to get children’s imaginations running wild and it’s so exciting to see the brilliant ideas they come up with. Thank you to all our competition sponsors for their generous prize donations and Digital Greenhouse for partnering with us.”

The competition is now open for entries with ten schools already involved across Guernsey and Jersey. Students must be in years 3-6 in a Channel Islands school and the deadline is Friday 5th May. The competition entry form is available here. If your school is not already involved and would like to be, please email marketing@resolution-it.co.uk.
