Innovative ideas spark at the Digital Greenhouse's virtual Health and Wellbeing Week
Following the challenges of the pandemic, people and workplaces are prioritising health and wellbeing now, more than ever. During the month of June, the Digital Greenhouse hosted a series of virtual events with a focus on technology, innovation and online safety. This week coincided with World WellBeing Week which is held annually during the last week in June and aims to create an awareness week to shine a light on all aspects of wellbeing.
The line-up of virtual events opened on Tuesday 21st June with a keynote presentation from local entrepreneur Daniel White, from Daniel White Health called Sleep Better, Work Better, where he took us on a deep dive into the world of the Circadian Rythym and how to influence it for the better, and shared details of his new corporate programme to improve employees' sleep by making adjustments to their working environment. Next in the series, we were joined by the C5 Alliance team, Sarah Barthram and Alex Morel, for a ‘Wellbeing 365’ webinar where we learned applicable tips on how to improve your wellbeing with tech in your workplace, including Microsoft Office programmes.
Later in the week, we held a Digital ACE talk aimed at parents and carers with Matthew Parker from Safe and Secure Online, where we explored the details of cybersecurity and the latest phishing and scams with a particular focus on those targeting young people. Matthew really highlighted the importance of online safety through the lens of wellbeing.
Finally, the week came to a close with June's virtual Innovation Lab workshop called Creative Conflict: Disagreeing Productively, where participants explored their style of conflict management and learned valuable methods in how to use it for the most positive outcome in the workplace.
