Ben Edwards leads Vodafone's Global Partner Markets IoT practise.

Working with over 40 network operators across the globe, including Airtel-Vodafone in The Channel Islands as a partner market, the IoT advisory practice projects his team has been involved in stretch from Asia to Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.

Ben’s a strong advocate for IoT applications and will be discussing how disruptive business models can drive meaningful commercial, governmental and societal outcomes in Guernsey. He'll be focusing on the smart island rationale, challenges faced by island communities around operational efficiency, what the landscape is looking like globally and how Guernsey citizens, businesses and infrastructure can benefit by incorporating IoT technologies and services into the eco system of the Island. He will also showcase live smart city projects from around the world, which can be deployed in Guernsey, that have driven efficiencies in area such as waste, utilities, citizen services, health, pollution, traffic, transport and smart buildings.

Ben’s international telecommunications career spans over 20 years and he has worked with operations and business globally. Following a long career in international connectivity, working on satellite, sub-sea cable and voice networks, he has spent the last 3 years leading the Vodafone Partner Markets IoT practice. Vodafone IoT employs over 1400 people globally. Airtel-Vodafone has worked very closely with Vodafone as a partner market for over 10 years and is pleased to be working with Vodafone and The Digital Greenhouse to bring this unique event to Guernsey.
