Using social media to promote your business can be an effective and low-cost marketing tool, and it is now common practice for employees to be asked to share business content on their personal social media channels.

Equally, it is more important than ever for professionals to develop their ‘personal brand’ on social media and use LinkedIn as a way to connect and network with colleagues. Being mindful of how you communicate and appear online is critical to present a professional image.

Tutor Profile

Nichole Culverwell Chart. PR, MCIPR is the Director of Black Vanilla and has over 25 years’ experience in the PR industry, working in Australia, the UK, and more recently, in the Channel Islands.

She has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) since 2004, is a Chartered practitioner and is the Vice-Chair of the Channel Islands CIPR group. Nichole runs a number of different training courses for clients and with the GTA, including social media and writing for the web.

Having worked in-house, for large agencies as well as freelancing, Nichole specialises in reputation management strategies, media relations, crisis communications and copywriting.

She is often called upon to write copy for advertisements, advertorials, websites and brochures. She works with clients to develop online content and blogs and Nichole also writes business and lifestyle features for magazines.

Her sector experience spans FMCG, finance and third sector.
