Much of our thinking about how to make decisions reflect an ideal: you weigh the alternatives based on reliable data, compute the most advantageous path and decide to choose that course. We maximize the expected economic outcome given some set of constraints in a timely manner using a process that is transparent and inspectable. Everyone involved can understand why that decision was made.

In a more and more opaque world, how one can take advantage of Volatility and Uncertainty while dealing with and controlling Complexity and Ambiguity (VUCA)?

In this seminar, we will discuss VUCA and examine some non-trivial facets of decision-making:

  • Procrastination
  • Data can be toxic
  • People biases
  • Most risks are not measurable
