After another successful year in 2019 Global Game Jam Guernsey will be running again for its 6th year in Guernsey taking place on 31st January 2020 at the Digital Greenhouse and is being kindly sponsored by Cortex, Granite Games and Old Doorways. The Global Game Jam is the world's largest game creation event taking place around the world at physical locations. In January 2018, events took place 803 locations in 108 countries with 8,606 games being created in one weekend.

The jam is always an intellectual challenge. People are invited to explore new technology tools, trying on new roles in development and testing their skills to do something that requires them to design, develop create, test and make a new game in the time span of 36 hours.

The event will start on Friday 31st January at 5pm where participants will watch a short introduction video where the theme will be announced. All sites worldwide are then challenged to make games based on that same theme, with games to be completed by Sunday afternoon. Games are not limited to being developed digitally, card games and board games are also allowed.
