KPMG Webinar Series: Leadership Cyber Risk Management Bootcamp using the NIST Framework

Cyber Security: the NIST framework explained, myths debunked, terminology explained, risk management tips and tricks for business leaders

Due to the forthcoming GFSC cyber regulation (based on the NIST framework) and the likelihood of many other offshore centres adopting a similar approach, we are running a virtual Cyber Bootcamp. Sadly, we cannot do it in a classroom setup due to the new way of working induced by COVID-19 and that’s a shame as we would have loved to share a croissant and coffee over this important discussion. We are, however, delighted to invite you to join us for our Cyber Security Bootcamp webinar series to help you navigate the physical and digital world of Cyber Security Risk Management.

The basics

With details of the GFSC cyber regulation being expected during Q3 2020, prepare yourself and your business with our webinar sessions also earn yourselves some CPD.

  • Why? Cyber is one of the top priority risks for local businesses, regulators and the government.
  • Who? Our Cyber Bootcamp is intended for business leaders, board members (both exec and non-exec), C-Suite, risk, compliance and technical personnel.
  • When? The Bootcamp programme will be held over 5 weekly sessions each 45 minutes long, starting 9 June 2020 with the final session on 7 July 2020. Each session will start at 10.00 am.
  • Pricing? Total price for the Bootcamp programme, consisting of five sessions, is £300 per person.

The Bootcamp

The goal of our Cyber Bootcamp is to prepare you for the upcoming regulations, but more importantly to provide you with a better understanding of cybersecurity risks, how they relate to your businesses and how to mitigate them. In addition, our discussions will cover COVID-19 related cyber themes and the dramatic change in working practices. It is undeniable that our boot camp comes at a time where organised crime groups are exploiting the seeds of fear and uncertainty sown by COVID-19 and taking advantage of the control deficiencies in IT systems, targeting individuals and businesses in a variety of ways.

How will the boot camp work?

Our Cyber Bootcamp webinar series will run for a period of five weeks, every Tuesday from 9 June to 7 July 2020. The sessions will be organised as 45 minute weekly digital presentations from our cybersecurity experts.

The boot camp will be delivered online using webinar technology. We will even record every session and make them available for viewing if for some reason you are unable to attend all five sessions.

Details

In the boot camp we will:

  • explore building cyber into your risk management framework and risk monitoring plans;
  • discuss how to identify crown jewels and the level of investment required to protect them;
  • deep dive into each of the core functions of the NIST framework (Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond and Recover); and
  • discuss key cybersecurity tips and tricks on monitoring your IT teams and/or outsourced service providers as part of your third-party risk management.

By the end of the boot camp you will have a comprehensive understanding of Cyber Risk Management and you will be better equipped to prepare for the upcoming regulations.
