Course Summary

Safe & Secure Online – When children use the internet, the world becomes their oyster and they need to understand how to separate the good stuff from the bad stuff.

Do you really know how to help them do this?

Do you worry about what your children are doing online?

Do your children know how to respond and what to do when something happens online?

This event is aimed at parents or carers of children at primary and early secondary school age who want to ensure that their children are safe and secure on-line.

This session will help you better understand the risks when going online and how to take steps to tackle this in your own home.

  • Sexting
  • Mobile phones
  • Gaming
  • Cyberbullying

Please note that due to the content discussed this session is only for adults, children cannot attend this session.

Course Benefits

The aim of this session is to help parents and carers increase their knowledge of how to protect children online and become responsible digital citizens.

Tutor Profile

Matthew Parker has over 20 years' experience in the IT industry and specialises in Information Security. He has volunteered for Safe & Secure Online for many years visiting schools to talk to children and parents about Online Safety.

He also sits on the Online Safety Committee for Guernsey schools.
