Active Listening

In April's face to face Innovation Lab event, we’ll walk you through the techniques used in active listening. This event correlates with April's Hive Learning Hub pathway,'Humble Leadership.' This month's pathway is centred around humility being a crucial part of successful leadership and collaboration.

We may not think of leaders as being humble. We look for confident and courageous traits in successful leaders, managers and team members. But Behaviours like humility and vulnerability are simply so important when truly connecting with your team.

This is where active listening comes in. Active listening is a skill that can be acquired and developed with practice. It means, as its name suggests, actively listening. That is fully concentrating on what is being said rather than just passively ‘hearing’ the message of the speaker. In this interactive face to face workshop, we will be exploring the pillars of active listening and then practicing these skills to apply to your professional and personal life.
