The Global Game Jam is the world's largest game creation event taking place around the world at physical locations. In January 2020, events took place in 934 locations across 118 countries and 9,601 games were created in one weekend!

The jam is always an intellectual challenge. People are invited to explore new technology tools, trying on new roles in development and testing their skills to do something that requires them to design, develop create, test and make a new game in the time span of 36 hours.

The event will start on Friday 29th January at 5pm where participants will watch a short introduction video where the theme will be announced. All sites worldwide are then challenged to make games based on that same theme, with games to be completed by Sunday afternoon. Games are not limited to being developed digitally, card games and board games are also allowed.

Who can take part?

Anyone can take part no matter what background or experience level you have, the Global Game Jam encourages people of all skill levels to take part.
