This series will include five webinars, each featuring subject matter experts, to explore the process of relocating to Guernsey, and the many benefits of Island life, as well as delving into the subjects that are often of particular interest to prospective relocators. Each of the five webinars will be available on-demand after broadcast.

Join Locate Guernsey for its Roundtable Discussion on the benefits and practicalities of relocating to Guernsey, the foundation event of the Winter Series. The roundtable will feature four speakers, each with relocation experience, as they discuss the many benefits of life in Guernsey and the key considerations for prospective relocators. The discussion is moderated by Jo Stoddart, Director of Locate Guernsey.

Speakers

Jo Stoddart

Director, Locate Guernsey

Jo has extensive personal experience of relocation having lived in Yorkshire, Paris, London, Jersey and for the past 16 years in Guernsey.

A former professional events’ organiser at IMG and the OECD in Paris, founder of a successful pan-island relocation consultancy and former Chair of the Association of Relocation Professionals, Jo joined Locate Guernsey in 2018. She is a passionate ambassador for the island and enjoys helping potential new residents to discover how living in Guernsey could work for them, their families and their business interests.

Lucy Kirby

Director, Guernsey Digital Greenhouse

Lucy has been involved in a number of digital change programmes, with a special interest in digital upskilling and brings a broad view of digital transformation and its impact on society.

With a background in education, she has undertaken Masters research into future skills development, adoption and integration of technology. She has presented internationally on the subject of digital change and adoption, invited by Google to work alongside other leading government and educationalists in summits both in the UK and Europe.

Lucy is currently driving the development and growth of Guernsey’s digital and entrepreneurial ecosystem through Guernsey’s own Innovation Centre, the Digital Greenhouse, and has just completed postgraduate research with the University of Deakin in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Dr. Robbie Hanna

Partner, Island Health Medical Practice

Dr. Hanna graduated from Queens University, Belfast in 1983. His main clinical interests are in paediatric Medicine and acupuncture.

He is a Member of The Royal College of General Practitioners and holds Diplomas in child health, obstetrics & gynaecology and geriatric medicine. He is a Member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society.

Dr. Hanna also represents the practice on Les Bourgs Hospice Medical Panel and has recently completed the diploma in palliative medicine.

Shauna Clapham

Director, Swoffers

Shauna Clapham has been with Swoffers for more than 30 years and is a director and shareholder in the company.

Day-to-day, she is responsible for Open Market sales and is a key member of the executive team. Shauna worked her way up through the company, starting as a secretary. Over the years she has built up a wealth of property experience in Guernsey, particularly within the Open Market.

When she’s not working, Shauna finds time to involve herself in various charity fundraising committees and ventures. She’s been included in the IFC Power Women 200, which recognises women of achievement who promote business excellence in their home jurisdiction.

She has completed two London Marathons and completed the ‘Three Peaks Challenge’ with a team from Swoffers, raising funds for Les Bourgs Hospice.

Edward Bowen

CEO of EDR Limited

Edward is the CEO of EDR Limited a bespoke geophysical consultancy supporting energy operators to de-risk their exploration and development work programs in a host of geological settings.

The business is headquartered in Guernsey and works globally for clients such as ExxonMobil, Total, Shell whilst also supporting several clients within the renewable energy market. With a strong experience expanding service-based businesses he has overseen simultaneous operations in 34 countries with technical teams either based remotely or in situ.

Guernsey provides the perfect backdrop for growing the EDR business thanks to the world-class infrastructure, grown-up service sector and good transport links to the UK and mainland Europe. Edward is married with two children and moved the family to Guernsey in 2018.
