Farewell Reflections and Future Horizons: Celebrating Innovation and Entrepreneurship on Guernsey

As I write my final article as Director of the Digital Greenhouse, I am filled with pride and optimism.
Over the past seven years, I've had the honor of sharing the ambitions of the Island to support and grow new ventures, to accelerate innovation within our existing industries and to create pathways to enable those with great ideas to thrive.
When I began this journey, our vision was to build a hub of digital innovation and entrepreneurial excellence. Today, I am proud of what we have achieved together. The Digital Greenhouse has become a cornerstone of Guernsey’s ecosystem, launching initiatives that support startups and established businesses, offering mentorship, networking, co-working and learning opportunities. Our accelerator programs have turned innovative ideas into successful businesses, many now focused on achieving international success, with our brand new Global Growth Programme and Partnership leading the way.
Our commitment to continuous learning has been unwavering. Through workshops and training sessions, we have equipped hundreds with the skills needed to navigate the digital landscape. The talent we've cultivated is a testament to our team's hard work, successful partnerships and our community's potential.
As I prepare to pass the baton, I look forward to the upcoming Véyaon Awards, celebrating innovation and entrepreneurship on Guernsey. Véyaon, meaning "go forwards" in Guernésiais, embodies our community's spirit of progress and excellence. These awards recognise local entrepreneurs who have taken risks, contributed to our island's economy and society, celebrating not just success, but the journey, resilience, and ingenuity behind it.
I am confident the Digital Greenhouse will continue to flourish under new leadership. The foundations we have built are strong, and the potential for future growth is boundless. I look forward to continuing to watch the breadth of new ideas, businesses, products and services be imagined and reimagined by our thriving community.
