Applications open for C5 Alliance's bursary scheme

Local students who are currently applying for scientific, engineering or computer science degree subjects at university and have a passion for technology are being encouraged to apply for the C5 Alliance Guernsey bursary. The chosen students will receive £1,500 towards their university degree as well as the opportunity to be involved in a paid placement at C5 Alliance.

During the six-week placement, students will work alongside other bursary students and C5 experts. They will attend team meetings, get involved in client projects and learn about different aspects of the business, helping them to understand what it is like to work in the technology industry.

Last year the bursary students took part in an Ideathon, which saw groups of C5 developers and analysts, work together to brainstorm ideas and solutions to local issues. The winning group came up with the concept of the ‘Coastal Clean Up’ app, and this idea has now been turned into reality. The app ‘gameifies’ plastic pollution collection and is hoped to have a positive impact on Guernsey coastlines.

Applicants interested in the bursary can find out more information here

Application forms must be returned to careers@c5alliance.com by 5pm on Friday 26 April 2019.
