Guernsey is a small and close-knit community, take advantage of some of the many networking opportunities

Here you will find some of the more prominent business and networking groups on the island, but once you delve deeper into your niche you might find a lot more unofficial community support groups to get involved with.  Below you'll find a list of a variety of local groups, some are free and informal, others have membership fees or have specific requirements to join.  If you know of a networking group or a Guernsey branch of an association that you would like included please let us know and we will add it here. 

B4-8 Club

The B4-8 club is Guernsey’s only dedicated business networking club.  It has approximately 40 members from a wide variety of businesses and it meets once a month, over breakfast.  It is characterised by its lack of formality, the relaxed atmosphere of its meetings and the good range of speakers who address the club each month.

CIPD Guernsey

Their primary purpose is to promote and champion the objectives of the CIPD and to ensure that local CIPD members are given opportunities to network with colleagues, continue with their professional development and remain up to date with the latest people management issues and thinking.  The Guernsey branch additionally also aims to raise the profile of the CIPD and HR locally, as well as working with businesses to shape the future of people management in Guernsey.  They are an active branch with over 220 members and have a varied programme of activities throughout the year.  Most of our events are open to non members and members alike.

Confederation of Guernsey Industry

The CGI provides a voice for Guernsey Industry.  Representing the industrial sector to debate issues of current concern, formulate a common position on key issues and lobby States' representatives.  As a member your views and needs will be represented by the CGi which sits at the top table in local business and politics.

Digital Greenhouse

The Digital Greenhouse offers a range of coworking memberships to suit the needs of businesses of all sizes, giving freelancers and small business owners the chance to meet people and network, including members-only events and socials.  They also host a wide variety of business development groups and free networking events.

Guernsey Chamber has a clear focus on supporting an enterprise culture and engaging with members, politicians and island youth for the development of a progressive business culture. Services include coworking facilities, free-to-members events and industry focus groups.

Guernsey Esports Association

GESA was founded in June 2017 with a goal of promoting and supporting E-Sports in Guernsey and further afield.  We believe there is a place in E-Sports for casual players as well as competitive matches.  Therefore we're are looking to facilitate events ranging from casual gaming meetups through to top level tournaments.

Guernsey International Business Association

The Guernsey International Business Association is the representative body of the financial services industry in Guernsey and has a membership consisting of all the major financial institutions and professional firms in the island.  Including a governing Council comprising of representatives from all areas of the finance industry, which meet on a monthly basis to discuss all current issues affecting the sector; representatives who sit on a number of institutions and working groups, acting in consultation with local government committees and regulators on domestic and international issues relevant to the financial services industry; and links with similar bodies in other jurisdictions in order to discuss matters of mutual international interest.

Guernsey Investment & Funds Association

The Guernsey Investment Fund Association (GIFA) was established in 1989 as a trade association spectrum of the Island’s investment community, including fund managers, administrators, custodians, non-executive directors as well as professional firms such as lawyers and accountants who are closely involved in the work of the investment business industry.

Guernsey Retail Group

The Guernsey Retail Group LBG aims to support, drive and represent the local retail economy.  They represent all aspects of the retail sector throughout the island, with their members coming from businesses of all sizes, product offerings and ownership type.

The Insurance Institute of Guernsey

Providing CPD, social and networking opportunities in Guernsey. Members of the Chartered Insurance Institute are also members of their local institute, and for the Bailiwick of Guernsey that is the Insurance Institute of Guernsey (IIG). The IIG has approximately 400 members and the IIG council supports education through exam support and continuing professional development through monthly lunches and development days. There are also more relaxed networking opportunities at the golf day, quiz, and netball and football inter-insulars against Jersey. Once a year the IIG gathers to celebrate its work during the year, and mark exam successes, at the annual dinner.

The Guernsey branch of the Institute of Directors supports, represents and sets the standards for directors and business leaders in the Bailiwick.  Membership includes training opportunities, networking events and specific lobbying groups (Transport & Connectivity, Machinery of Government, Skills & Population, Economic Development).

Lunch & Learn

Run by the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce, Lunch & Learn is a programme of events that provides invaluable (and free to member) advice, together with the chance to make new business contacts and explain your role and your organisation’s areas of activities. They also provide a healthy free lunch.

The NED Forum

The Finance Sector Non-Executive Director Forum LBG (The NED Forum) was formed in recognition of the increasing importance of good corporate governance, particularly as it applies to regulated businesses in the Finance sector. The aims of The NED Forum are to provide support for the non-executive director community in the finance sector in the Channel Islands; and to promote the views of the non-executive director community in the finance sector in the Channel Islands. They hold regular events, where members will be able to meet and exchange information.

Rise & Shine

Rise & Shine is a monthly networking group, it has a variety of guest speakers covering topical business issues.  The meetings are light-hearted making for an easy and relaxed atmosphere to nurture new business contacts.  The style of Rise and Shine is unpressured and guests can mingle and chat at their own pace and in a way they feel most comfortable.
