Global Entrepreneurship Week is a collection of tens of thousands of events, activities and competitions each November that inspire millions to explore their potential as an entrepreneur while fostering connections and increasing collaboration within their ecosystems.

Building businesses; The importance of a growth mindset - Mon 16th

Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller will be opening Global Entrepreneurship Week with a building businesses breakfast, introducing Charles Mindenhall, Co Founder of Blenheim Chalcot and Richard Hanrahan, CEO of Agilisys.  This session will focus on discussing the importance of adopting a growth mindset when scaling businesses.  Charles and Richard will be sharing their experiences of growing businesses and valuable lessons they have learnt along the way.

Cyber Security and Data for Small Businesses - Mon 16th

It is hard to find a business operating that isn't holding some kind of data, it is important for businesses to understand both their requirements for holding data and how to keep it safe. 

 

For Monday’s lunch-time session Tim Loveridge from the Office of the Data Protection Authority will be highlighting the requirements for small businesses who hold data and upcoming changes to the regulations. Tony Cleal and the team from Black Arrow Cyber Consulting will then be talking about Cyber Security, the considerations and what to look out for. They will both be on hand after the talk to answer any questions you might have.

Accessing Finance for Start and Scale Businesses - Wed 18th

Finance is always an important consideration when starting or scaling a business.  On Wednesday, Nick Gregg, Head of Investments for Blenheim Chalcot and Ed Prow founder of Tekex, will be discussing methods and routes to take for accessing finance. Nick will be discussing what makes a business ‘investor ready’ and what potential investors will be looking for. Ed will then discuss his own experience and journey, recently finding investment for a local startup, as well as showcasing Tekex a local platform that aims to support businesses at a stage when they are looking for investment.

Get your name out there - Media, Marketing and Communications - Thu 19th

Our final event of the week focuses on the different ways in which businesses can market themselves and get their name out.

Panellists include Will Green, Business Editor from the Guernsey PressAaron Walden, Commercial Manager from Skipton International and Nichole Culverwell Chart. PR, MCIPR, Director of Black Vanilla

The panel will be covering what makes a good story, which channels and methods are the best to use to get started and how you can look to embed your business within the local community.
