Guernsey Students to Explore World-Leading AI Insights in 2026 Digital Innovators Programme
The Digital Greenhouse is thrilled to announce the return of the Digital Innovators Programme for 2026, offering local post-16 students a unique opportunity to learn from world-class academics and industry experts as they explore the cutting edge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and future technologies.
Delivered in partnership with University College London (UCL), the programme brings together world-class academic insight in the form of live virtual lectures and hands-on events including a Student Summit and AI Hackathon. Together, these activities give young people practical experience and future-ready skills to navigate the fast-changing digital world.
The first activity in the programme is the AI Explorer Virtual Learning Course, where students will take a deep dive into AI topics with six live lectures led by subject-matter experts from UCL. Topics include AI in the Workplace, Ethics and Creative Industries, each designed to build foundational understanding and spark curiosity. It starts on the 4th February and runs until 18th March with weekly one-hour sessions.
There is no cost to the students taking part as the places are fully-funded by programme sponsors 1st Central. “We’re proud to power the Digital Greenhouse’s Digital Innovators Programme. Our students are the island’s future, so it’s important we provide them with opportunities to engage with digital technologies,” said John Davison, Chief Information Officer at 1st Central.
Through this programme, students will gain not only technical insight but also confidence in critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and collaborative work - skills that are increasingly essential in a rapidly changing world where the shape of future careers continues to evolve.
Students from all backgrounds are encouraged to participate as the course is designed to be accessible to those without prior technical experience.
